Loop
the End

Coreloop does not produce. We loop. A field recording of rain on a Nissan hut, a 4-bar Hammond phrase, a sentence someone regrets — splice the ends, erase the splice, let it pass the playback head forever. The work is not composed; it is overdubbed until the hiss becomes the melody.

Rain on Nissan

Thirty seconds of rain on corrugated iron, recorded in Orkney, March. Spliced end-to-end at the waveform zero-crossing so the loop is mathematically seamless. After 400 plays the tape hiss has become a third voice.

Hammond 4-Bar

An A-minor phrase on a 1962 B-3, Leslie slow. Eighteen seconds, played four times, each overdub 3.7° out of phase with the last. After the fourth pass the chord no longer resolves — it breathes.

The Regret Sentence

"I should have told her the lake was frozen." Spoken once, by a man in his 80s, in a kitchen in Trøndelag. Cut to 72 seconds, looped, reversed every 8th pass. The words begin to forget themselves.
